Working on some more Christmas gifts the past few days so can't give too much detail at this point! The yarn is an organic cotton from Peru. I had to put a hold on the chainmail for my knights since it was taking far too long. I still don't have the first one finished and I have several other projects that need to be done first. I'm wondering if they might end up being an Epiphany gift instead. Which might actually be sort of fitting since there are three little kings' knights to give them to? We'll go with that.
My reading lately has consisted of my Advent devotionals and The Hobbit with John Paul. I have a feeling that there is no way he is going to be able to see the movie for another few years at least. Which is kind of a bummer since I was sort of excited to bring him to his first movie. Just from reading the story and knowing how realistic and visual Peter Jackson is sure to make it, I know that it would be way too much for him. Once we tried to watch a Little House episode and the suspense was too much for him. But read the same things to him in a book and he can process it without getting upset.
I pulled Life of Christ back off the shelf to reread the chapters appropriate for Advent and Christmas after morning prayer. You just can't beat Sheen. I also picked up Advent and Christmas with Fulton J. Sheen and have been reading those in the morning. I have to admit, I do prefer my spiritual reading to be a bit meatier than the tiny snippets so often presented in devotional books and I'm finding it still true with this book.
