Just the other day I said how it was going to feel good to get back to routine and reestablish a little bit of normal around here. Bad move, Mary. Very bad move. We have now experienced the joy on two different nights of what it is to clean up everywhere-vomit in the middle of the night from children who woke themselves up being sick. And that kind of messes with the whole 'getting back to normal' thing. I suppose I should consider it success that it took almost eight years of parenting for this to happen. Others aren't so lucky. This ugly whatever-it-is virus thing will not leave us alone. But, thankfully, it eased up over the weekend for Luke's Baptism and we had a lovely day (we thought we were done with it but were very wrong). Today, rather than restarting lessons and taking down the Christmas tree, we had a cozy clothes day and played games and read while I did loads of laundry. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow?
In the meantime because of all this fun, I haven't had a chance to get in on Sarah's new Pinning it Down linkup which I really was hoping to do! I have been learning to enjoy Pinterest. I really was having a hard time liking it and Charlotte seems to share my sentiments exactly. There is something about the visual clutter and the layout of the home page that doesn't appeal to me. I was also having a hard time with seeing all these people's pins that I was somehow automatically signed up for that I didn't know and had no interest in. I couldn't figure out how to unfollow them (finally figured it out). BUT I do see the value in it and really wanted to like it! So during the past week or so I've jumped on a bit and have figured out how I can enjoy it for what it is and make it work for me. We'll see if I can 'pin it down' with them next week and join in the fun!
Oh I'm so sorry, Mary. That simply CANNOT be conducive to your already sleep-deprived "normal". I hope the bug leaves quickly!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see you next week for Pinning it Down perhaps- it'll be there whenever you're ready for it, so just don't sweat it. :)
